A large hotel bar located opposite to the main railway station and backing onto the River Gipping. Retaining a comfortable public bar and function room. Renovated in 2025. it was taken over by Eddie Roberts, who previously ran Uncle Tom's Cabin (since closed). Beers are by Greene King. Cask ale is not always available.
