Large, elegant, country pub that retains some original features, with a large inglenook fireplace to add to the obligatory exposed wooden beams. Attractive garden and patio area to the rear. Purchased by a local couple in early 2016, it was closed for extensive works for over a year, reopening in November 2017 as a gastropub with a B&B guesthouse. As well as a large dining area, it retains a bar and seating area for those who just wish to drink and also has a cosy library room. The pub won Great British Pub, National Pub & Bar and Muddy Stiletto awards in the early 2020s.
