See more about this pub on CAMRA's national web site

The pub occupies a 16th century thatched building of Tudor design. It overlooks the 22 acre green which is claimed to be the longest in England. A vintage car club meets here on the first Friday of the month. Inside, the pub has been opened up somewhat but retains three distinct sections. Exposed beams abound. The pubby bit, right of the entrance, is in front of the bar and the area to the right of it. Here you can drink with or without food. To the left of the entrance is the first dining area. A large open fireplace links these two areas. To the rear of the first dining area is a large conservatory also for dining. In June 2022 the Royal Oak became part of the Cambscuisine group. The house beer, Badger's Nadgers, is brewed for Cambscuisine by Papworth brewery. Its other cask ales primarily come from breweries in or near East Anglia. One of their keg beers is OTT from local BrewBoard brewery.
