Large pub with plenty of parking out front and set back from Newmarket Road. It has restaurant areas upstairs and in two side rooms, with tables also set out for eating in the bar area, however it manages to keep a pub flavour. Food is pub gastro with reasonable prices. There is a lovely large garden and barbecues are offered in the summer. The house ale is by Norfolk Brewhouse.

The license for the Eagle Tavern, originally granted in 1829, has moved around several addresses in the area before coming to the present building in 1873. Before that the Grade II listed building was a private dwelling.
