See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

A country pub with excellent views across to the village cricket pitch, on an open common - one of the largest in England that is privately owned by the parish.

Extensively remodelled in 2016: the beams and brick interiors remain, as do the two large inglenook fireplaces. However, the pub has been much expanded, particularly at the rear with a large patio and garden. There are now couple of restaurants, a snug, and a spacious front bar that welcomes dogs. There are also six B&B rooms in the converted livestock barns.

Much of the menu is gluten free, there are vegetarian and vegan options, and all produce that can be, is sourced locally, including many of the drinks offerings.
