Reopened in August 2020 after being bought from a pubco and significantly refurbished, the Dog been transformed into a community-focused Pub aiming to bring the local community together with particular events and charity events.

The pub supports its local charity Amber’s Army, has been nominated for a local business award and came in the top three in 2024.

Events include a Coffee and Natter morning every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month 10am-1pm, quiz night every 2nd And 4th Tuesday of the month from 7pm (bookings only), Cheese and Wine night every last Tuesday of the month 6 - 9pm and Street food every Thursday & Friday 5-8pm, and there's live music generally at the end of each month, apart from January & February.

The Dog also offers four real ales all year-round. Generally from Greene King, Woodforde's and Wolf with occasional guests.
