Regional Pub Campaigning Co-ordinators Remit

PURPOSE

To coordinate and encourage the work of Branches on pub campaigning

TASKS

To advise and encourage Branches on ways and means of promoting pubs and pub-going, including participation in national campaigns [PA]
To advise and support Branches on specific campaigns to protect pubs from closure or other undesirable developments [PA]
To encourage Branches to ensure that the Local Authorities in their areas adopt planning policies which afford protection to pubs [PA]
To encourage Branches to form proactive Pub Groups, either singly or working with surrounding Branches [PA]
To encourage Branches to use one of the supported pub database systems so that Branches maintain accurate and detailed information about the pubs in their area [AS]
To compile a bi-annual report of the LocAle pubs in each Branch area using branch pub databases [AS]
To coordinate the annual Pub Watch Survey in the region and ensure that all Branches participate, including preparing a draft Pub Watch report using branch pub databases [AS]
To encourage Branches to create networks of local members acting as Pub Contacts, who will be the focus for pub data collection, and the focus for promoting and protecting specific pubs [AS]
To help Branches ensure that they identify all pubs in their area which have features of historic or architectural value and assist them in promoting and protecting those pubs [PA]
To establish links at a regional level with relevant public, private and voluntary organisations (including pub-owning companies) and encourage Branches to form links with similar organisations at a local level [PA]
To co-ordinate and support pubs officers in the region [AS+PA]
